Pertunjukan Musik Pop Dalam Ibadah Umum (Studi Kasus di GKII Filadelfia Kota Kupang)

This study aims to describe pop music performances in public worship (Sunday) at GKII Filadelfia church, Kupang City. The research was conducted using a qualitative method where data was collected through direct observation and interviews. The data obtained is then processed by means of data reduction and analysis, and music analysis based on music theory. Based on the results of the analysis, it was concluded that pop music performances in public worship at GKII Filadelfia church congregation Kupang City were quite effective in influencing the congregation, because of the role of the performers and the performance strategy. The worshippers are altar teams such as WL (Worship Leaders), singers, and music players, as well as multimedia and soundytem teams. The performance strategy consists of the right musical strategy and attracts the audience (the congregation) to sing, and the performance strategy in terms of the readiness of the altar team to present the nuances of worship can influence the congregation to sing and move according to the style of pop music.
