Ketegangan antara Sacred Text dan Living Text

Artikel ini mengkaji pengertian dan cakupan Teologi Praktis dengan menempatkan pengalaman manusia sebagai living text yang berinteraksi secara dialektis dengan sacred text. Permasalahan utama yang dibahas adalah ketegangan otoritas antara doktrin dan pengalaman dalam menentukan dasar refleksi teologis serta implikasinya bagi peran gereja di ruang publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi kepustakaan dan analisis isi terhadap pemikiran para teolog teologi praktis seperti Friedrich Schleiermacher, Pete Ward, dan Elaine Graham untuk menelaah dinamika hubungan kedua teks otoritatif tersebut. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ketegangan antara sacred text dan living text bukanlah masalah yang harus dihapus, melainkan karakter inheren Teologi Praktis yang justru memungkinkan refleksi kritis, kontekstual, dan transformatif. Otoritas living text memperluas cakupan Teologi Praktis ke ruang publik tanpa meniadakan identitas iman, melainkan menuntut dialog timbal balik yang terus-menerus. Kesimpulannya, Teologi Praktis berperan sebagai jembatan hermeneutis yang bergerak secara dialogis antara doktrin dan pengalaman, sehingga gereja dapat hadir secara representatif dan relevan di tengah dinamika sosial tanpa kehilangan akar teologisnya.
