Abstract
The digital age has brought about major changes in the way the younger generation processes information, interacts, and forms their spiritual identity. Christian Religious Education (CRE) faces new challenges, such as digital distractions, a decline in emotional regulation skills, and a weakening of personal spiritual practices. This article aims to integrate the perspectives of neuroscience and Christian faith education to optimize the brain's mechanisms in the process of faith formation. Through qualitative literature review research methods, this study analyzes neuroscience, neurotheology, and Christian education literature from the past five years to formulate a theoretical model relevant to the digital generation. The results of the study show that the process of faith formation is closely related to brain function, particularly in terms of neuroplasticity, the limbic system, spiritual memory reinforcement, and behavior and emotion regulation. CSE learning that utilizes experience-based approaches, narratives, reflective practices, and spiritual habits has been proven to support the formation of a more profound Christian mindset. In addition, digital technology can be a strategic tool when used ethically and purposefully, such as through Bible apps, interactive spiritual content, and multimodal learning that triggers cognitive and affective activation. This study produced a model for integrating Neuroscience into Christian Education that emphasizes four pillars: theological foundations, understanding brain mechanisms, brain-based learning strategies, and the wise use of technology. This model is expected to serve as a reference for Christian educators in designing relevant, contextual, and effective learning to strengthen the faith of the digital generation.
